This is a 60s vintage Bell System Western Electric R-83-3 Beige Rotary Desk phone. This phone was used in my Mother's house till she passed away last year. The phone was updated in the 70s to modular cords so you can plug it in and use it anywhere. It's really in nice shape, there are no cracks anywhere and it's clean as a whistle. There are cleaning scratches after 50 years but you can't see them unless you get 6" away!

The bell rings with incoming calls and it'll wake the dead! If you're not old enough to remember what these sound like, you'll jump out of your skin the first time it rings. You can control the ringer volume, or turn it off. This dials using a mechanical system, known as pulse dialing. Modern phones use tone dialing so you may or many not be able to dial out, depending upon your provider. No matter where you are, it will always ring and you can answer calls on it.
