Varian VE-10 Vacuum Evaporator

The Varian VE-10 vacuum evaporator is a compact high-performance automatic vacuum system designed for general use in research, electron microscopy and coating small optics. I have owned this machine for ~30 years and used it regularly for optical coating and thin-film thermal evaporation. It was manufactured in ~1970 and is complete and working properly. It is fitted with a high-voltage transformer to create a glow discharge, and a 15V, 100A power supply for thermal evaporation. I replaced the original Cenco roughing pump with a Varian SD-201 rotary vane pump. Included are the hard copies of operating instructions, service procedures, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics. It is ~40" high x 27" wide x 16" deep, mounted on casters and weighs approximately 350 pounds.
