1940s vintage PYREX Flameware Blue bubble 1-1/2qt Double Boiler with lid. Here one of a pair of my Mother's Pyrex flameware double boilers, with stainless steel bands holding the glass handles on 2 saucepans with one fitting inside the other to create the Double Boiler. My Mother always said that this is "absolutely necessary" if you want to make 7 minute frosting. The double boiler is 8" high with the lid on. 12" wide with the handle. 6" in diameter The metal ring around both pans has the word "Stainless" etched into it as well as Pyrex and the flame logo. The lid fits both the outer and the inner pan. This double boiler is blue glass it is very light
