Brunswick Panatrope Model 106 - Hand Crank Talking Machine Record Player 1940
Here is my Mother's 1940 Brunswick Panatrope Model 106 in excellent condition. This is not a restoration, it's a gift she treasured from her H.S. graduation in 1940 and it is in great condition. It is crank operated, a full wind-up plays both sides of a 78. This will only play 78s or similar shellac records and modern vinyl. This unit still works beautifully, the reproducer is strong and it puts out a very respectable volume for its size. The brake still works. Included is one, worn 78 rpm record. More are easily found at flea markets and old book stores. Several extra needles are included. It's important to change the needle every few plays (ideally every play) to preserve the records. These can be bought for about 5 cents each in bulk. Please don't use the same needle over and over!
The case shows wear on the material from moving and storage after 84 years. The case is still sturdy and the latch works fine.
Put this in your office or home or place of business and it will command instant attention ( and admiration ).
