Scientific American published this three edition set of “Amateur Telescope Making – Book 1, 2, 3” from 1935 to 1980. Fully illustrated with hundreds of illustrations they cover all aspects of making a functioning telescope. 3 vols., 8vo., with very numerous illustrations and diagrams in the text, Neat signature on Vol. 1 front paste-down. Burgandy boards with gold lettering are the same on all books, upper boards and back strip lettered in gilt, backstrips slightly faded else a very good, bright, clean set. Vol 1 backstrap torn. The set comprises Book One (4th ed, Munn & Co. 1935); Book Two (First ed, 1st printing 1980); Book Three (1st ed, 1st printing 1953 impression). There is edge wear and corner bumping. All internal pages are clean, with no tears and no other previous owner marks as far as I can check.
