Alexandre Oxford Street London All Wool Topcoat - CHARCOAL / DARK GREY
Alexandre (originally "Alexander the Great Tailor") was a historic, prominent British menswear and tailoring brand that operated a massive flagship store on Oxford Street, London, opened in 1902. In 1950, Alexandre London launched Made to Measure Suit service on US Military Bases and my Uncle Leo ordered this when he was stationed at the Royal Air Force (RAF) base at Lakenheath, which is also is the largest U.S. Air Force base in Europe, located in Suffolk, England. Leo was stationed there in '69-'72. This topcoat held up better than Leo, he's gone but this topcoat still looks spectacular and it shows no evidence of being worn, much less wear.
This is a three-button single breasted medium wool topcoat, with back center hook vented design. Two large pockets with pocket flaps, sleeve cuff design. Full canvas construction with slip stitching around lapel and all trim. Coat is fully lined. Condition is Mint. It is too large for me, I wear a 42 S and I would judge this to be a 42 R, but please use these measurements to judge for yourself.
