Singer SewHandy model 20 children’s sewing machine. The model 20 sewing machine is a chain stitch sewing machine. Chain stitch machines use a single thread to form stitches in a long continuous seam looping and locking into a chain on the backside of the seamed fabric. There is no 2nd thread bobbin, so these are perfect for a child. This was my sister's 8th birthday present, in 1954. She wasn't interested in sewing, so this has been stored unused and unopened for 70 years. The machine is pristine, it comes with original box with a Singer metal table clamp, original singer instruction manual booklet with sewing instructions and the original needles.
