This UNIVERSAL Vacuum Carafe was made by Landers, Frary & Clark of New Britain, Connecticut in 1917!! Woodrow Wilson was president, and the United States had just entered WW 1 when this was manufactured. Very retro carafe with a classic design with a nickel plated brass body, handle and spout. A very stylish piece with a sleek chrome shape, perfect for keeping coffee hot on your desk, tastefully, for hours. Can also be used for keeping liquids cold, chilled, and ready to drink. This 1-pint carafe has no dents and the nickel-plating is remarkably bright. Note that there is a small area on the handle where the plating has deteriorated. I've used this from time to time and it still keeps my coffee hot. This is an interesting collectible ~6-1/2" tall with a stopper. Note in the last picture he big-brother of this carafe sitting on President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's desk when he signed our declaration of war against Germany on December 11, 1941.
