The empty 1970 Old Fitzgerald Decanter celebrates the 21st America's Cup. The first America's Cup race took place in 1851 when the U.S. schooner America raced 15 British vessels around the Isle of Wight. The American yacht decisively won the 53-mile regatta. The 1970 America's Cup was held in September 1970 at Newport, Rhode Island. The US Intrepid defeated the Australian challenger, Gretel II, four races to one. This bottle is in very good condition with no cracks.  The cap cork is degraded but still fits, though loosely.  Height 10 Inches - Width. 4 Inches. This is a great gift idea for the Man Cave at a sailor
