A.F. Meisselbach Tri-Part * Bait Casting Reel c1907 F*S

A.F. Meisselbach "Tri-Part" bait casting reel. This is a 100+ year old USA made Meisselbach "Takapart" non-level wind, baitcasting reel, made in Newark, NJ. This reel belonged to my father was made somewhere between 1904-1907. It is marked with patent dates Nov 15'04, Dec 27'04, June 20'05 and March 05'07. My Father was born in '04 and I know he caught thousands of speckled trout with this reel. It is in excellent cosmetic condition and works flawlessly. Spool is lined, capacity 80 yards. Weight and age of line unknown. It is very smooth and quiet. It has a strong click and the spool spins a for long time when you give the handle a spin. Cosmetically, there are no conspicuous dents or scratches. The spool's arbor has a brassy look and remarkably, the end plates and rims have very few signs of wear. They have some very light and tiny scratches/abrasions. Just a few are barely visible, but most need magnification to be seen.
