1951 Singer 221 Featherweight Centennial* Blue-Badge Sewing Machine w/Pedal and Case F*S
1951 Singer 221 Featherweight Sewing Machine w/Pedal and Case in good condition. This Featherweight runs beautifully, quietly and smoothly. It was built in the fall of 1951 and manufactured in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. The serial number is AJ917906. I would judge this cosmetically 6 on a 10 scale, it is very presentable but the black lacquer is blistered in a few places and the gilding is worn on the front edge. This is not a collectible machine but a solid and fine-running user. When you turn the sewing light on, you can see the blemishes on the sewing platen which are invisible hard to notice in roomlight. The motor runs almost silently as it should and the light works fine. It is very clean inside and has been oiled and serviced. It is housed in the original case. That is also in decent condition. The interior is covered in black leatherette. The exterior is covered in faux black leather material. There is chafing on the bottom edges but the case is solid. The manual is included.
