~1920 WESTERN Nickel Plated Brass Tub Faucet, from the White House
~1920 WESTERN Nickel Plated Brass, Cast Iron Tub Faucet with porcelain helicopter handles.
My Father came back from a meeting in Washington, D.C. in the fall of 1951 on the Southerner, a passenger train operating between New Orleans and Washington, packing this in his suitcase. He told me it came from the White House. The White House was completely gutted during the Truman administration, and they did sell off building material.

My Dad never mounted it, and neither have I. There are scratches, scuffs on the nickel plating, with some minor tool marks around the nuts which have all cleaned up to a nice shine. Has nice porcelain valve handles marked Hot and Cold. The porcelain is sound, thought there appears to be a small hairline crack hear HOT (see pictures). The valves are free and function as they should. The spout is an “elephant trunk” style spout. Overall, very good, salvage condition. I would rate it 7 on a 10 scale, the nickel is extremely presentable and would look lovely as-is.
