CRANE Red Brass Utility Faucet removed from the White House

My Father came back from a meeting in Washington, D.C. in the fall of 1951 on the Southerner, a passenger train operating between New Orleans and Washington, packing this in his suitcase. He told me it came from the White House. The White House was completely gutted during the Truman administration, and they did sell off building material.

My Dad never mounted it, and neither have I. There are the usual scratches and scuffs on it, with a few minor tool marks around the nuts which have all cleaned up to a nice shine. Has 5-1/2" long paddle valve handles marked H  and C. The valves are free and function as they should. The spout is an “elephant trunk” style spout with a removable spray head. Overall, very good, salvage condition. I would rate it 9 on a 10 scale, the brass is extremely presentable and would look lovely as-is.
